The Presidency has said President Bola Tinubu embarked on a three-week vacation in Europe to rest and “refuel” after months of intensive engagement with state affairs and ahead of the 2027 election campaign.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said Tinubu had spent the past six to seven months dealing with major issues, including the economy and security.
Dare said the President needed time to recharge as political activities ahead of the January 2027 election gather pace, adding that governance would continue during the campaign period.
He also said Tinubu would remain engaged with government affairs while on leave and receive regular briefings from ministers, service chiefs, and other top officials.
The Presidency earlier announced that Tinubu’s three-week trip to Europe was part of his annual leave, with London as his first stop. He is expected to return to Nigeria ahead of the election campaign.
