Joint Forces Rescue 10 Kidnapped Corps Members

Security forces have rescued 10 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted by suspected kidnappers in Kogi State.

The corps members were rescued from Egume Forest in Ofu Local Government Area during a joint operation involving the police, military, Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies.

Kogi Police spokesperson, ASP Afusat Saliu, said the rescue followed a coordinated, intelligence-driven operation to recover the victims and apprehend those responsible.

The operation is ongoing as security agencies continue efforts to rescue the remaining victims.

The corps members were among 15 reportedly abducted last Wednesday while returning from the NYSC orientation camp in Bayelsa State. The victims were travelling towards Abuja when gunmen attacked two buses along the Aloma-Egane Expressway in Ofu LGA.
