Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has alleged that he was defrauded of $4 million in a property deal in Lagos, claiming the house he purchased does not belong to the seller.
The artist, whose real name is Abiola Akinbiyi, made the claim during an emotional Instagram Live session on Tuesday, where he appeared distressed and appealed to the public for assistance.
According to him, he only recently discovered that the property may have been fraudulently sold. He further alleged that the individual who received the payment has since gone into hiding.
“I spent $4 million of my hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property,” he said during the livestream.
Bella Shmurda added that he has contacted his lawyer to begin an investigation into the matter but did not disclose details about the seller or the property.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and there has been no official statement from law enforcement or any parties linked to the transaction.
