Popular Anambra-based cleric Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has accused some Nigerian pastors of staging miracles in churches.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Odumeje expressed concern over what he described as the growing practice of fake miracles, saying it was one reason he often declined invitations to minister at other churches.
“Arranges “staged miracles” in churches are becoming too much in Nigeria. That is why I don’t go to other clerics’ churches as guest minister. I have turned down a lot of invitations,” he said.
The cleric maintained that the miracles reported in his church could be verified, claiming that the identities of those involved were known and their accounts could be checked.
Odumeje also claimed that no Nigerian Christian cleric could perform miracles like his, with the exception of the late Prophet T.B. Joshua, whom he described as his “father in the Lord”.
The comments were made in an episode of the podcast published on October 19, 2026, in which Odumeje also discussed his ministry and relationship with the late Prophet T.B. Joshua.
