President Bola Tinubu on Thursday swore in Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Enitan succeeds Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who retired from the Federal Civil Service after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the State House, Abuja, following Enitan’s appointment by the President on August 19, which took effect on August 27, 2026.
Before his appointment, Enitan was the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
He had served as a Permanent Secretary for seven years and seven months, with previous postings at the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice President.
Tinubu charged the new Head of Service to build on ongoing reforms and promote professionalism, efficiency and accountability across the Civil Service.
