Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticized President Bola Tinubu over insecurity, saying Nigeria needs a revolution to transform the country.

Peter Obi spoke on Monday in Abuja during the inauguration of the NDC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said his administration, if elected, would prioritise integrity, accountability and the proper use of public funds.
“My government will uphold integrity, enforce accountability, and ensure that public funds serve the people, not private interests,” Peter Obi said.
He added that Nigeria needed a president who would confront problems rather than run away when challenges arose, in an apparent reference to Tinubu.
Peter Obi also questioned Tinubu’s frequent foreign trips and criticized his decision not to personally visit every state during the campaign to explain his administration’s record.
He called for a revolution to transform Nigeria, arguing that the country needed leadership capable of addressing insecurity, poverty and corruption.
The NDC candidate’s remarks came as political parties intensified preparations for the 2027 general elections, with Tinubu seeking re-election under the All Progressives Congress.
