Pastor Recounts How Money Ritual Quest Ended in Leg Amputation

An Ogbomoso-based pastor, Joel Olasunkanmi Adedeji, has recounted how his involvement in money rituals in his younger years brought him wealth before a road accident led to the amputation of his leg.

Adedeji shared his experience during an interview with BBC Yoruba, saying he turned to a herbalist about 30 years ago while seeking wealth and material possessions.

He disclosed that the herbalist instructed him to have sexual relations with a woman he loved, use a white handkerchief to wipe her private parts and present it to him.

According to the pastor, he followed the instructions and subsequently became wealthy. However, he said the herbalist warned him that he would never be able to use the money to buy a car or build a house.

Adedeji said he enjoyed the wealth for about five years before his fortunes changed.

Recounting the accident, which he said occurred on May 26, 2001, he explained that the vehicle that hit him had been purchased with money he gave another person.

He said he was rushed to the hospital, where his leg was amputated.

Reflecting on his experience, the pastor urged young Nigerians to avoid seeking quick wealth through questionable means and exercise patience in pursuing their ambitions.

“I implore the youths of today to be patient in everything they do,” he advised.
