More filling stations in Abuja and its environs have reduced their petrol pump prices as marketers respond to recent price cuts in the downstream petroleum market.

A market survey on Friday showed that AA Rano, Ranoil, and some other filling stations reduced their petrol price to ₦1,400 per liter from ₦1,420, representing a ₦20 reduction.
The latest adjustment follows price cuts by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), MRS, and Geregu, which brought petrol prices at some Abuja outlets down to ₦1,370 per liter. Recent checks also showed varying NNPCL prices across the capital, reflecting differences between locations.
With the latest reductions, petrol is currently selling for between ₦1,370 and ₦1,430 per liter at different filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas.
The price cuts followed Dangote Refinery’s decision to reduce its petrol gantry price by ₦25 to ₦1,325 per liter. The move has prompted some marketers to review their pump prices amid increased competition.
The NMDPRA has also reported increased domestic refining activity, with Dangote Refinery playing a major role in supplying refined products to the local market.
