Iran Alleges US Withdrew World Cup Ticket Allocation for Its Supporters

The football authority in Iran has accused the United States of cancelling its allocated ticket quota for upcoming World Cup fixtures, raising concerns over fair access for its fans.

In a statement issued ahead of the tournament, the federation said the decision would prevent Iranian supporters from attending group-stage matches scheduled to take place in the United States.

According to the body, participating nations are entitled to a fixed percentage of match tickets under international regulations, which are distributed to fans through official channels. It noted that ticket sales had already commenced before the allocation was reportedly withdrawn.

The federation described the move as inconsistent with the principles guiding global sporting events and called on FIFA to ensure equal treatment of all participating countries.

The complaint comes amid broader diplomatic tensions between both nations, which have also affected travel arrangements for members of Iran’s delegation.

As of the time of reporting, neither tournament organisers nor US authorities have issued an official response to the allegations.
