Davido: Wizkid and I Will Sell Out Every Venue

Afrobeats star Davido has said he would charge $500,000 per show if he embarks on a joint tour with fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid, expressing confidence that the tour would sell out venues worldwide.

Davido made the revelation during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of recording music and touring with Wizkid.

While expressing confidence in the commercial prospects of a joint tour, Davido said he was uncertain whether a collaborative song between them would become a hit.

He cited D’banj and 2Baba’s previous collaboration as an example of a joint record that did not achieve the expected success.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop. But if we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” he said.

The singer disclosed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in about 10 years, stressing that their lack of collaboration was not due to an inability to work together.

He attributed the situation to their different mindsets at the time, noting that opinions remain divided over whether their rivalry has contributed to their individual success or whether working together would make them bigger.

Davido also spoke about moving past disagreements, saying it takes maturity to acknowledge when one’s feelings towards another person have changed.

“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he added.
