Amaechi Challenges Oshiomhole to Show Academic Certificates

Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has challenged Senator Adams Oshiomhole to make his academic certificates public after describing him as “shallow” and “unreliable.”

Amaechi issued the challenge during an interview on Rapid TV while responding to Oshiomhole’s criticism of his political positions and relationship with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Oshiomhole had accused Amaechi of being politically inconsistent for criticizing the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu after previously supporting them. He also questioned Amaechi’s alliance with Atiku, recalling his earlier challenge to the former vice-president’s emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate.

Reacting, Amaechi listed his academic qualifications, including degrees and master’s degrees in Law and Literature, a certificate from the University of London, and a master’s degree from King’s College London. He also said he was pursuing another master’s degree in Global Political Economy.

“Tell him to show his certificate if he has any,” Amaechi said.

The former governor insisted that he and Oshiomhole were political equals, recalling that they served as governors at the same time and that the senator was among those who elected him chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.

Amaechi also alleged that Oshiomhole’s criticism was motivated by his role in the former Edo governor’s removal as APC national chairman.

“What is paining Oshiomhole is that he was removed as chairman of the party, and I led the team that removed him,” he said.

On allegations that his administration mismanaged public funds and abandoned projects in Rivers State, Amaechi questioned why Oshiomhole waited 12 years after his tenure to raise the issues.

He dismissed the allegations and said he would no longer respond to the senator’s comments.
