“Fame Isn’t Success” — Ramsey Nouah Calls Out Popular Myth

Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah has emphasized that discipline and consistency, not talent alone, are the true drivers of a lasting career.

Speaking in an interview shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the 55-year-old reflected on his more than three decades in the film industry, noting that many people confuse fame with success while overlooking the effort behind it.

“Talent is not enough. Discipline is what keeps you consistent when inspiration fails,” he said.

Nouah added that the public often sees only the glamour of fame, ignoring the hard work, doubts, and sacrifices involved in building a career.

“A lot of people think once you’re famous, you’re successful. They don’t see the work behind the scenes,” he said.

On whether achieving or sustaining success is more challenging, Nouah stressed that consistency matters more than one-time success.

“Success can happen once, but consistency is what really counts, and that requires discipline,” he added.

Widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most accomplished figures, Nouah has built a career spanning over 30 years as an actor, director, and producer. His credits include Living in Bondage and the Netflix series Blood Sisters.
