NCS Flags Viral Recruitment Update as Fraud

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has cautioned Nigerians to ignore a fake recruitment update currently circulating on social media.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Service clarified that the information did not originate from its official channels and is entirely false.

The NCS urged the public to rely only on verified platforms for updates on its activities, including recruitment. It also advised Nigerians to confirm information before sharing or acting on it.

“Members of the public are advised to disregard the publication and rely only on information disseminated through our official communication channels,” the statement said.

The agency listed its verified handles as Facebook (Nigeria Customs Service) and @customsng on Instagram, X, Threads, and TikTok.

Recruitment scams remain widespread in Nigeria, with fraudsters exploiting job seekers by sharing fake vacancies and demanding payments. Authorities have repeatedly warned citizens to stay vigilant and avoid unofficial announcements.
