Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn has turned down a collaboration request from rapper Blaqbonez after resurfacing an 11-year-old tweet in which the rapper appeared to prefer producer DJ Coublon over him.
The exchange began after Young Jonn posted on X, “I need like 5 bad friends; way we go, dey move in bulk!”
Blaqbonez responded, “Oya, make we dey together, sing as one,” expressing interest in joining the group.
Young Jonn, however, shared a screenshot of a 2015 post attributed to Blaqbonez, which read that he preferred DJ Coublon to Young Jonn.
“Go sing as one with Coublon,” Young Jonn replied.
Blaqbonez subsequently responded to the resurfaced post, saying, “See, wetin my 2015 handler dey type,” suggesting that the tweet was made by his social media handler at the time.
The exchange has since drawn attention online, with fans reacting to the artists’ playful back-and-forth.
