First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has appealed to voters in the South-East to support the re-election of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2027 presidential election.
She made the appeal on Wednesday in Owerri, Imo State, during an empowerment program for women.
“I want to enjoy Nigeria at old age, so I will work for Nigeria for my old age,” the First Lady said, urging residents to vote for the President.
The empowerment program, implemented through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, targets 18,500 women nationwide.
In Imo, 500 women were initially listed to receive business equipment, but Governor Hope Uzodimma provided additional items for 2,000 women, bringing the total beneficiaries to 2,500.
Following the governor’s gesture, Tinubu announced an additional ₦100,000 cash support for each beneficiary.
Uzodimma, in his remarks, pledged the support of Imo residents for President Tinubu’s re-election, saying the state appreciated the Federal Government’s interventions.
The First Lady was also conferred with the chieftaincy title of Osodieme by traditional rulers in the state.
