Suspected Thugs Attack Atiku’s Convoy in Kebbi

The campaign convoy of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was reportedly attacked by suspected political thugs in Kebbi State on Thursday.

The incident occurred as Atiku and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign team travelled through the state for campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the campaign team, the attackers blocked the convoy and pelted vehicles with stones before targeting members of the media crew.

The team said several cameras, video equipment, tripods, and other recording gadgets were destroyed, preventing the crew from continuing its live coverage of the campaign.

Atiku’s media aide, Royalty Uso, shared an account of the incident on X, alleging that the attackers were sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The ADC campaign team condemned the attack, accusing the perpetrators of attempting to intimidate its supporters and prevent the media from covering its activities.

However, the allegation of APC sponsorship has not been independently established.
