The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Abuja on Saturday as it carries out maintenance at the Katampe 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
According to a statement by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the outage will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to allow maintenance on a 100MVA power transformer and related equipment.
As a result, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to supply electricity to affected areas during the period. Communities expected to experience disruptions include Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp, Kado Fish Market, Idu-Karmo, and surrounding areas.
TCN apologized for the inconvenience, noting that the maintenance is necessary to ensure efficient and reliable power supply.
