Real Madrid Demands Tebas’ Resignation Over Nazi Propaganda Comparison

Real Madrid has demanded the immediate resignation of LaLiga president Javier Tebas after he compared the club’s communication strategy to propaganda techniques used by Nazi Germany.

Tebas made the remarks on social media on Friday, accusing the club’s management and television channel, Real Madrid TV, of repeatedly highlighting alleged refereeing errors to create suspicion and portray the club as a victim.

He likened the approach to methods used by Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s propaganda minister, while clarifying that his comparison concerned propaganda techniques, not Nazi ideology or Real Madrid supporters.

In response, Real Madrid described the comments as “deeply offensive” and “morally repugnant,” accusing Tebas of repeatedly attacking the club and questioning his neutrality.

The Spanish giants also demanded his resignation as vice-president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), arguing that his conduct was incompatible with his responsibilities in Spanish football.

The latest dispute adds to the longstanding tensions between Real Madrid and Tebas over refereeing, media coverage and the handling of the Negreira case involving payments by Barcelona to a former refereeing official.
