Rangers International moved to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table after defeating Bendel Insurance 1-0 in a rescheduled Matchday Nine fixture on Wednesday.

The defending champions secured all three points at the Awka City Stadium, thanks to Chidozie Iwundu’s goal two minutes into the second half.
Both teams created scoring chances in a closely contested first half but failed to find the net before the break.
Iwundu eventually broke the deadlock in the 48th minute, giving Rangers the advantage they held until the final whistle.
The victory takes Rangers to 21 points from 10 matches, moving them to the top of the standings. Bendel Insurance remains fourth with 18 points from 11 games.
Rangers will host Kwara United in their next league fixture on Sunday, while Bendel Insurance welcomes Niger Tornadoes to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
