TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has alleged that inappropriate conduct by a football coach during his teenage years forced him to abandon a promising career in the sport.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Peller said the incident happened when he was about 14 or 15 years old while training under a local coach in Ikorodu, Lagos.
He explained that the coach often gathered young players at an unfinished building before training sessions and would single out those who arrived late. According to Peller, he was frequently unable to pay lateness fines and was sometimes asked to stay behind while others went to the field.
Peller alleged that during these moments, the coach behaved inappropriately toward him. He also recounted a separate incident when the coach invited him to his residence under the pretense of running an errand.
Upon arriving, Peller said he became uncomfortable with the situation and refused to comply with the coach’s request to stay. He managed to leave by asking to step outside and did not return afterward.
The TikTok star said the experience deeply affected him and ultimately pushed him away from football, despite his belief that he had the potential to pursue the sport professionally.
He added that he later heard from an acquaintance that the coach had allegedly been involved in similar misconduct in another community.
Peller said he eventually shifted his focus to content creation, where he began livestreaming and gradually built an audience, marking the start of his current career.
