Nigerian singer Orezi has vowed to end his friendships with anyone who supports Lindsay Clancy, the American mother accused of killing her three children.
Orezi made the remarks in an Instagram Story while reacting to opinions surrounding Clancy’s case.
The singer said anyone who supports Clancy, regardless of their interpretation of the case, should consider their friendship with him over.
“If you are my friend and I see that you support Lindsay Clancy in any type of way… consider our friendship over,” Orezi wrote.
He also said he would confront any friend who argued with him over the issue, questioning how anyone could show empathy towards Clancy.
Clancy was accused of strangling her three children, five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan, at their Massachusetts home in January 2023. Her defence argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for the killings.
Her trial ended in a mistrial on September 4 after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict. Clancy remains charged, while prosecutors are yet to decide whether to retry the case.
Orezi concluded his post by calling for Clancy to remain in prison.
