Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dismissed reports claiming he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 election.

In a statement issued Tuesday by his spokesperson, Dr. Dominic Alancha, Dogara described the claims as false and misleading, insisting he remains a loyal member of the ruling party.
The statement said Dogara has neither resigned nor indicated any intention to quit the APC, attributing the rumors to individuals seeking to create division within the party.
It added that Dogara is focused on strengthening the APC and is committed to supporting the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
He also urged the public and media to disregard unverified reports and rely on official statements.
