NARTO, NURTW Endorse Tinubu, Governor Radda for 2027

The National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda for the 2027 elections.

The endorsement was announced on Saturday at an event held at the Gwagware Foundation in Katsina, attended by the national and state leadership of both unions and representatives from the seven North-West states.

Governor Radda, while accepting the endorsement, attributed the unions’ support to investments in road infrastructure and transport development by the federal and state governments.

He said his administration had prioritized road construction, urban renewal, and improved connectivity across Katsina, noting that the Ministry of Works has one of the largest allocations in the state budget.

Governor Radda also assured NARTO and NURTW that the government would engage them over their requests for additional vehicles and soft financing.

“We will invite you for a closed-door meeting to discuss how we can support NURTW and NARTO,” Governor Radda said.

Representing NARTO’s national president, Deputy National President Prince Ganiyu Atanda Salami said the endorsement was based on the infrastructure and transport-related achievements of Tinubu and Governor Radda. He appealed for soft loans to enable transport operators to renew and expand their businesses.

Katsina Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport, Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa, highlighted the state’s investments in road construction, dualization, rehabilitation, urban renewal, and the procurement of modern buses for the Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA).

NURTW Chairman for Katsina State and the Northern Region, Alhaji Musa Garba Yandoma, said the endorsement was also in recognition of Governor Radda’s achievements in road infrastructure, urban renewal, education, and local government autonomy.

The unions presented Governor Radda with an Award of Recognition for his leadership and development efforts.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe, businessman Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, government officials, lawmakers, local government chairmen, traditional leaders, and transport sector stakeholders.
