The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation HADIN KAI, has carried out a precision airstrike on a suspected terrorist hideout in Borno State, destroying the structure and reportedly neutralizing its occupants.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X, citing intelligence sources.
According to him, the strike took place in the early hours of July 20 after Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations detected suspicious activity around KLA Balia in the Lake Chad region.
He said an ISR platform, codenamed “GUARDIAN,” established surveillance at about 5:35 a.m. and confirmed the target before the airstrike was executed.
A post-strike Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) indicated that the building was completely destroyed and engulfed in flames, with those inside believed to have been neutralized.
The aircraft reportedly remained briefly over the area for monitoring before returning to base.
The operation is part of ongoing military efforts to weaken terrorist infrastructure and restrict insurgent movement across Nigeria’s North-East.
