Madrid Snubbed as Atlético Reject Massive €150m Bid for Álvarez

Atlético Madrid have declined a €150 million offer from city rivals Real Madrid for forward Julián Álvarez, reaffirming their intention to retain the Argentine attacker.

The La Liga side confirmed that the proposal was formally submitted but stated that, after careful consideration, it was turned down in line with the player’s contractual valuation.

Álvarez, who remains tied to Atlético until 2030, is protected by a release clause that strengthens the club’s negotiating position and limits flexibility in transfer discussions.

The 26-year-old striker has attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, who are reportedly weighing up a separate offer for the forward.

Since joining Atlético from Manchester City, Álvarez has been a key figure in Diego Simeone’s squad, delivering consistent performances in both domestic and European competitions.

Real Madrid are expected to continue their search for attacking reinforcements, while Atlético remain firm on keeping one of their most valuable assets ahead of the upcoming season.
