Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd) on his 85th birthday, describing him as a statesman whose contributions have shaped Nigeria’s political and administrative history.
Governor Radda, in a congratulatory message, commended General Babangida for his role in the creation of Katsina State on September 23, 1987, saying the decision gave the people greater opportunity to pursue their own development.
He said the people of Katsina State would continue to remember General Babangida for creating the state and giving it a distinct political identity.
Katsina State was created from the former Kaduna State alongside Akwa Ibom State in 1987.
Governor Radda also described the former Military President as a respected national figure whose years of public service remain significant to Nigeria’s history.
He prayed for General Babangida’s continued good health, peace, and many more years of life, wishing him a happy 85th birthday on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State.
