Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has appealed to Nigerians for financial support as she battles a recurrence of cancer.

In a video circulating on social media on Tuesday, Anijekwu revealed that she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy. However, the disease has returned and spread to other parts of her body, including her bones.
According to the actress, the rising cost of treatment has become overwhelming, prompting her public appeal for assistance.
“I had surgery and chemotherapy, but the cancer came back,” she said. “The doctor recently told me it has spread to my bones, and the treatment is now much more expensive.”
She described her condition as worsening, noting visible physical symptoms, and urged Nigerians to support her in any way they can.
“I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me,” she pleaded. “Your one naira, your two naira can add up to something reasonable for me to get proper treatment.”
Anijekwu’s appeal has since drawn attention online, with supporters calling for donations to assist with her medical care.
