How Governor Radda’s Humility Impressed Worshipper

A worshipper, Abdulwaheed Bello, has recounted a Ramadan encounter with Katsina State Governor Radda at a mosque in Abuja, describing the governor’s conduct as an example of humility in public office.

Bello said he sat beside Governor Radda at An-Nuur Masjid in Wuse 2, Abuja, during the first two days of Ramadan in 2025 without initially realizing his identity.

According to him, Governor Radda entered through the back of the mosque and sat among other worshippers after the Asr prayer without seeking special treatment.

Bello said it was only after some people approached the governor and addressed him as “Your Excellency” that he realized who was sitting beside him.

He noted that neither Governor Radda nor his security aides asked him to leave his seat or make way for the governor.

The encounter, Bello said, demonstrated the importance of humility and approachability in leadership.

Governor Radda, who assumed office in 2023, has pursued programs focused on education, youth empowerment, agriculture, infrastructure, and community development as part of his administration’s development agenda.

Bello urged other public officials to emulate the governor’s humility and simplicity, saying such qualities can help strengthen public trust in leadership.
