Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, clocks 57 today, September 10, with his administration highlighting its efforts to address insecurity while expanding development across the state.
In a birthday article titled “Dikko Radda at 57: A Compass in Turbulent Times,” his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, described Governor Radda as a leader who has remained focused despite the security and economic challenges confronting Katsina.
Mohammed said the administration had continued implementing its “Building Your Future” agenda while tackling banditry, particularly in frontline communities.
He cited the return of farming and commercial activities in some affected communities, including Jibia, as signs of improving security.
The article also highlighted interventions in education, healthcare, and human capital development.
According to the piece, more than 10,000 people have been employed by the state government, while 41 medical students received scholarships to study in Egypt, and 67 students were sponsored to China to study Artificial Intelligence and other advanced disciplines.
In healthcare, the administration has upgraded 268 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state. The government said the upgrades cost more than N26.7 billion and included renovations, medical equipment, ambulances, water and sanitation facilities.
The administration also inducted 1,020 newly recruited frontline health workers in February 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery.
Mohammed said Governor Radda had remained committed to development despite the security challenges, adding that his administration would continue working to make Katsina more peaceful and attractive to investors.
He described the governor’s 57th birthday as an opportunity to reflect on the progress recorded since he assumed office in 2023.
