An Air India flight from Frankfurt, Germany, to New Delhi was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday after a hijack alert triggered a security response.

The flight, AI 2030, landed safely at Jaipur International Airport at about 9:35 a.m. local time and was moved to an isolation bay for security checks.
According to The Indian Express, the Boeing 787-9 aircraft had 306 passengers on board, all of whom were reported safe. Passengers were evacuated under security supervision as security personnel examined the aircraft and luggage.
Preliminary reports indicated that the pilot had transmitted Squawk 7500, an international code used to signal hijacking or unlawful interference. However, initial information suggested the alert might have been activated mistakenly.
While some reports linked the diversion to a bomb threat, an airport source quoted by Hindustan Times said the alert concerned a hijacking rumor rather than a confirmed bomb threat.
Investigations were ongoing, with authorities yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the alert. Air India had not issued an official statement at the time of reporting.
