Governor Radda Seeks Traditional Rulers’ Support to Tackle Insecurity, Boost Development

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has called for stronger collaboration with traditional rulers to address insecurity and promote grassroots development.

Governor Radda made the call during an engagement with the District Head of Bakori, Alhaji Garba Tukur Idris, and other traditional leaders as part of the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 campaign activities in Bakori Local Government Area.

He said traditional institutions play a vital role in maintaining peace, strengthening community participation, and supporting government efforts to tackle security challenges.

Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, particularly ensuring that farmers can access their farmlands and traders conduct their businesses without fear.

He urged traditional rulers, security agencies, political leaders, youths, and women to work together to address insecurity and expand economic opportunities.

The Governor also called on community leaders to embrace unity and support the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 political agenda, describing the engagement as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between government and traditional institutions.

Earlier, the District Head of Bakori, Alhaji Garba Tukur Idris, commended the engagement and called for sustained cooperation among traditional rulers, local government authorities, security agencies, and residents to maintain peace.

He identified agriculture, trade, and commerce as the main drivers of Bakori’s economy, noting that the area’s dams and boreholes could support irrigation, improve agricultural productivity, and attract investment.

The Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area, Musa Abubakar Barde, said the delegation also sought the blessings and support of traditional rulers and community stakeholders for the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 campaign.

The delegation included Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal, Campaign Director-General Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, and other campaign council members.
