Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets were beaten 4–2 by Australia in their second match at the Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in China, marking their second consecutive loss in the competition.

The defeat follows a narrow 3–2 loss to Tanzania in their opening game, leaving the former world champions with no points after two matches. The team has now scored four goals while conceding seven.
Coached by Uwejamomere Eboboritse, the Eaglets will look to end the tournament on a positive note when they face hosts China in their final match on Saturday.
The invitational tournament serves as part of Nigeria’s preparations for the WAFU B U-17 Championship scheduled for September. The regional competition will act as a qualifying pathway to the 2027 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
