The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N631.3 billion for nine road construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation projects across Nigeria.

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, disclosed this on Wednesday after the FEC meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to Umahi, the projects are expected to improve road connectivity, ease transportation and support economic activities across the country.
The largest allocation is N209 billion for the reconstruction of the 81.1-kilometre Ado–Ilawe–Ilumaba–Ikole Road in Ekiti State, including a bridge. Another N167 billion was approved for the 95-kilometre Etuke–Okeni–Ankpa–Otopa Road in Kogi State.
The council also approved N89.2 billion for the 47-kilometre Bichi Ring Road, including a flyover, in Kano State, and N62 billion for the Tungo–Karamti Road linking Adamawa and Taraba states, with five bridges.
Other projects include N30 billion for remedial works on deteriorated sections of the East–West Road and N28.218 billion for the rehabilitation of a 17-kilometre section of the Sokoto–Illela Road.
The remaining approvals cover an 18-kilometre road linking Asiago to the Port Harcourt–Enugu Expressway at N20.257 billion, an Abia State road project valued at N11.33 billion, and the Dikko–Maje link road connecting to the Suleja–Minna Road in Niger State at N14.486 billion.
Umahi said the projects would be supervised to ensure quality delivery and value for money.
