Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing his presidential ambition as a “cheap product.”
In a Facebook post on Sunday titled Kachalla Series Three, Lawal also faulted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its handling of the Adamawa State governorship primary.
He alleged that Umar Suleiman, who he claimed won the party’s primary election, was replaced with Tukur Moddibo due to ethnic considerations. Lawal further accused Atiku of influencing the decision.
According to him, the candidate substitution reflects a broader pattern of favoritism based on ethnic and religious factors.
Lawal used a marketplace analogy to criticize both Atiku and the ADC’s candidate selection process, likening them to products sourced from a cheap online platform.
He maintained that the developments raise concerns about fairness and transparency within the party’s internal processes.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Atiku nor the ADC had responded to the allegations.
