Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao has responded to movie critic Tolu Fagbure after he questioned her acting ability and place in cinema.
Fagbure made the remarks during an interview on the Agbaletu podcast, where he said he did not consider Ajao’s performances to be strong enough for cinema.
He described her delivery as “plastic” and said her looks were the major thing working in her favor. He also claimed that she lacked the talent to develop her acting into a skill.
Fagbure, however, acknowledged that the remarks were his personal opinion, saying his view was “not sacrosanct” and not the final word.
Responding in a post on X, Ajao questioned whether her looks were really the only thing sustaining her career.
She said she would continue to work and improve while allowing audiences to judge her performances.
“Opinions are free, but careers are built,” the actress wrote, adding that she was “not stopping anytime soon.”
Fagbure’s comments have since generated discussion among Nollywood followers, with the debate focusing on his assessment of Ajao’s acting career.
