A 55-year-old motorist escaped unhurt on Friday after a moving train collided with his Honda car at the PWD railway crossing in Lagos State.

The train was heading towards Agege when it struck the car, with registration number EKY 902 JT, causing extensive damage. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said its officials, working with security personnel, rescued the driver and removed the wreckage from the tracks, allowing the train to continue its journey.
However, traffic congestion persisted around the PWD area following the incident.
LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, commended the swift response of the officials and urged motorists to exercise caution at railway crossings.
He warned drivers against crossing the tracks when a train is approaching or in motion, stressing that disregard for railway safety rules could result in serious consequences.
The agency also said the damaged vehicle was handed over to security personnel for investigation and urged road users to obey traffic regulations and railway safety guidelines.
