Nigerian streamer Carter Efe has criticised social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) over his plan to help Nigerians buy the newly released iPhone 18 directly from China.
Carter Efe made the remarks during a livestream on Friday while reacting to VDM’s visit to an Apple Store in China.
VDM had said he would help Nigerians source the devices directly if local phone vendors inflated their prices, arguing that he wanted to prevent customers from being overcharged.
Reacting to the move, Carter Efe accused VDM of trying to disrupt the phone business, questioning why the activist had suddenly ventured into phone sales.
“VDM no dey sell phone o but enter China, he wan go buy phone dey sell. He wan spoil people business,” Carter Efe said.
He also suggested that the move could affect Igbo phone dealers, saying VDM wanted to “spoil Igbo people’s business.”
VDM’s comments came after Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 series on September 9, with the devices scheduled to go on sale from September 18.
