Burna Boy performs at historic first World Cup Final halftime show

Nigerian music star Burna Boy delivered a standout performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, which featured the tournament’s first-ever halftime show.

The Afrobeats singer joined Colombian superstar Shakira to perform “Dai Dai,” the official song of the tournament, during the show held at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.

The historic halftime spectacle, modeled after the Super Bowl format, also featured global acts including Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, and Coldplay in a star-studded lineup curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Burna Boy’s appearance marked a major moment for African representation on the global stage, as he featured in one of the most-watched sporting events worldwide.

On the pitch, Spain defeated Argentina 1–0 to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The halftime show is expected to become a recurring feature in future World Cup finals, signaling a new era of entertainment for the tournament.
