The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won four of the five legislative seats contested in Saturday’s by-elections across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta states.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted the polls on September 19 in one federal and four state constituencies.
APC candidates Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a, Husseini Datti, Okolosi Ator, and Yakubu Ali won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Dawakin Kudu, Udu, and Disina State Constituencies, respectively.
In Bauchi, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) won the fifth seat, with Adamu Yakubu securing the Sakwa State Constituency.
Reacting to the results, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda congratulated the party’s candidates and commended voters, INEC, security agencies, and other stakeholders for their roles in the elections.
Yilwatda described the victories as a reflection of voters’ confidence in the APC and urged the successful candidates to remain committed to serving their constituents.
In the results, MaiJama’a won in Gombe with 41,121 votes, Datti secured 22,890 votes in Kano, Ator polled 8,724 votes in Delta, while Ali won in Bauchi with 5,846 votes.
APM’s Yakubu won the Sakwa seat with 8,515 votes.
