Adamawa LG Chairman Dies 18 Months After Predecessor

The Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area in Adamawa State, Yahya Saidu, has died less than three months after assuming office.

His death was confirmed on Saturday by Aliyu Wakili, the member representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, in a condolence message shared on Facebook.

Wakili described Saidu’s death as a major loss to Fufore and Adamawa State, praying for Allah to grant him eternal rest and comfort his family and constituents.

Saidu’s death comes about 18 months after his predecessor, Shuaibu Babas, died in office on April 23, 2025.

Saidu was sworn in as chairman on July 15, 2026, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He reportedly died in a hospital in Kaduna on Friday, October 9, 2026.
