The Nigeria Police Force has rescued a motorist from a mob following a road traffic accident in Karsana District, Abuja.
The incident occurred on Sunday, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
Iniedu said police operatives responded swiftly after the motorist was confronted by a mob following the crash.
He said the motorist was rescued and taken to safety, while normalcy was restored in the area.
The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abuja, is investigating the incident.
In a separate operation on Monday, police arrested three suspected vandals allegedly caught destroying public infrastructure along 3 Constitution Avenue, Abuja.
Iniedu said the suspects were arrested by operatives conducting surveillance in the area while on a covert patrol.
The suspects were taken into custody for investigation, with the SCID handling the case.
