Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed confidence that Daura Emirate will support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, describing the area as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Radda spoke on Monday while leading Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and other political leaders on a visit to the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk.
He said Daura had maintained longstanding ties with the APC since the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that traditional institutions remained important to peace, unity and political stability.
Yari said the visit was part of consultations with traditional rulers ahead of the 2027 general elections. He highlighted their role in promoting peace and unity and called for continued engagement with community leaders.
The Emir thanked the delegation for the visit and commended Governor Radda’s efforts to improve the welfare of Katsina residents. He also stressed the importance of cooperation between political leaders and traditional institutions in promoting peace and sustainable development.
The delegation included former Katsina governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shema, former Borno governor Ali Modu Sheriff, former Imo governor Rochas Okorocha, former Zamfara governor Ahmed Sani Yarima, and former Jigawa governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, among other political figures.
