The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulrahman Mohammed, has expressed confidence that the party will win elective positions across the country in the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed spoke on Tuesday in Abuja during a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) with state chairmen.
He commended the state chairmen for ensuring the successful nomination of candidates for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly elections across the 36 states.
He expressed hope that the candidates would emerge victorious, adding that the NWC was committed to strengthening the party and ensuring a successful outing in 2027.
The Chairman of the PDP State Chairmen Forum, Austin Nwachukwu, also pledged the state executives’ support for the national leadership, saying they were ready to work towards the party’s victory.
However, he raised concerns over alleged intimidation, harassment, and attacks on PDP members and candidates in some states, particularly Ebonyi.
Nwachukwu said the forum had prepared a petition to the Inspector-General of Police over the alleged incidents and called for urgent intervention to protect opposition members ahead of the elections.
The PDP is heading into the 2027 elections amid internal divisions and uncertainty over its political direction, particularly following FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s open support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
