Wike: FCT Secured for Tinubu in 2027

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the territory in the 2027 presidential election, citing growing cooperation between political stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike spoke on Wednesday in Abuja during a meeting with party leaders, traditional rulers, women’s groups and youth representatives in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

He said political differences should not prevent leaders from working together, describing the gathering as one of his happiest moments.

Wike, who coordinates the APC Presidential Campaign Council in the FCT and Rivers State, attributed the growing support for Tinubu to infrastructure projects and reforms by the administration.

He cited the progress on the long-delayed Apo-Karshi Road project, the establishment of women and youth development secretariats, and improved opportunities for career civil servants.

The minister also defended the removal of the petrol subsidy, arguing that the difficult economic reforms were necessary to address longstanding challenges.

He said preparations for the 2027 election were underway and urged eligible voters to turn out with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to support Tinubu and other candidates.
