AAC Seeks Tinubu’s Approval to Use Aso Rock

The African Action Congress (AAC), led by activist Omoyele Sowore, has asked President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa in Abuja for the inauguration of its presidential campaign council on November 11, 2026.

The party also requested food, drinks and logistical support for attendees, citing the need for equal treatment of political parties.

The requests were contained in a letter dated October 21 and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhai Ikpeminioghena.

The AAC said granting its request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and non-partisan use of public institutions.

It also cited arrangements reportedly provided to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.

The party asked the Presidency to communicate the conditions and procedures for approving the proposed event.
