Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has opened up about his health struggles, revealing that walking has become difficult for him and that parts of his body sometimes swell.
The 79-year-old actor disclosed this during a visit to ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, as part of his Ghana legacy tour.
Edochie said he remains hopeful of recovering despite his condition, noting that the swelling in his body sometimes subsides after some time.
“Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover,” he said.
The veteran actor also said he frequently asks God to take him when his time comes rather than allow him to become a burden to those around him.
“I just keep asking God, you are the author of life. Whenever you feel it’s time for me to go, just take me. Don’t let me bother the people who are around me,” Edochie said.
During the visit, Edochie also prayed for Armah’s recovery and offered financial support towards his care. Armah has reportedly been battling serious health complications for several years.
