The Super Falcons have been left out of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Best XI for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Nigeria endured a disappointing campaign in Morocco, exiting the tournament in the quarter-finals after a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon. It was the first time the 10-time champions failed to reach the semi-finals.
Cameroon, who went on to win their first WAFCON title after beating Malawi 3-0 in the final, dominated the Best XI selection with four players.
Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, Myrian Myadjou, Monique Ngock, and Marie Ngah Manga were named among the tournament’s standout players.
Runners-up Malawi had two representatives, sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga, while host Morocco also contributed Nouhaila Benzina and Hanane Ait El Haj.
Algeria had Ines Bellomou and Marine Dafeur selected, with Zambia captain Barbra Banda completing the line-up.
The selection caps a difficult tournament for Nigeria, who also missed out on qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup after their early elimination.
