The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Taraba State Command, has dismissed reports of a reconciliation between alleged factions of the organization in the state, describing the claims as misleading and fraudulent.

In a statement signed by its Acting State Vice Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Aliyu, the command said some individuals had been visiting VGN offices and presenting themselves as representatives of factions that had recently reconciled.
The command said VGN has no faction at the national or state level and remains one organization.
It also said the individuals were not recognized as leaders, officers, or members of the VGN, alleging that court judgments had barred them from claiming membership or leadership positions in the organization.
The command further alleged that the purported reconciliation was being used to solicit money from VGN members and members of the public.
It urged members, security agencies, and the public to disregard any claims or representations by the individuals concerning VGN leadership or a purported reconciliation in Taraba.
The command also directed its personnel across the state to report any alleged activities, movements, or solicitations involving the individuals or their associates to the nearest police station or the VGN State Headquarters in Jalingo.
