The United States says its forces have struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz, marking its first reported military action against Iran since late July.
US Central Command said Iranian Revolutionary Guards personnel were preparing to launch rockets and deploy sea mines into the strategic waterway when the strikes were carried out.

US Senator Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, criticized President Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict, saying the war had failed to achieve its objectives six months after it began.
