Two people were injured on Saturday when a 20-foot container truck overturned after colliding with another truck at New Garage, along Ikorodu Road in Ojota, Lagos State.

The truck, with registration number SUL 460 ZY, was carrying three people when the crash occurred, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the container truck collided with a flat-body truck whose driver reportedly fled the scene before emergency responders arrived.
He said the impact caused the container-laden truck to overturn, blocking about half of the carriageway. The crash also damaged a high-tension electricity pole, sending power cables across the road and creating additional danger for motorists, pedestrians, and responders.
Two occupants of the truck sustained injuries. The driver’s assistant suffered head and chest injuries as well as multiple bruises, while the driver sustained injuries to his mouth and shoulder.
LASEMA and the Lagos State Ambulance Service provided emergency medical treatment at the scene before the victims were stabilized for further care.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority was deployed to manage traffic, while Ikeja Electric personnel secured the damaged power infrastructure and fallen cables.
Authorities continued efforts to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic along the affected section of Ikorodu Road.
